Is my data safe? Can anyone at Emerald read my conversations?
Emerald does not store your Procore project content, documents, or emails; these are read live to answer a question and then discarded. Question text is retained for up to 24 hours for quality assurance, then automatically deleted. Limited usage metadata (name, email, timestamp, project) is retained for security auditing only. None of this data is ever used to train AI models.
Does Emerald read all my emails automatically?
No. Emerald only accesses your email when you ask a question that requires it. For example, "What's urgent in my inbox?" It pulls a limited set of recent emails to answer your question, then discards them. It is not monitoring your inbox in the background.
Can other Emerald users see my emails or documents?
No. Every account is completely isolated. When you ask Emerald a question involving your email or project documents, only your data is ever accessed. No other user on the platform can see your inbox, your files, or your conversation. Access is scoped to your account only.
Can Emerald make changes to my projects or send emails on my behalf?
No. Emerald can read or process your documents and emails to answer questions, but it cannot send emails, modify files, update schedules, or take any action in any system. It only answers questions.
Can Emerald help me with recommendations and actionable advice?
Yes. Emerald is not just a search tool. It uses natural language processing to understand the context of your projects and surface what actually matters. Ask it what needs to happen before a deadline, what change orders are at risk, or what would fall apart if you went dark for a week. It reasons across your documents and emails together to give you answers you can act on, not just information to sort through yourself.
Does the AI learn from my data or get smarter from my conversations?
No. Emerald uses Anthropic's Claude via API. Your conversations are never used to train the AI model. Each session is completely independent. What you discuss today has no effect on any future session, for you or anyone else.
How does Emerald find the right documents when I ask a question?
When you ask a question, Emerald searches your project documents for the most relevant sections, not by keyword, but by meaning. It understands that "slab pour schedule" and "concrete placement timeline" are related. It then ranks the results to surface the most useful ones before composing your answer.
Is Emerald compatible with any tech setup?
Emerald has been engineered specifically for Procore and Microsoft 365 and works out of the box with Outlook, Azure Active Directory, and the broader Microsoft ecosystem. Under the hood it is API-driven, so it can be extended to connect with other systems and tools based on your organization's needs. Is Emerald 100% accurate?
Emerald shows its sources. Every answer includes citations so you can verify what it found. For anything with financial or legal consequences, always confirm against the original source. Emerald is a research assistant for construction teams, not a final authority.
